Prayer is not only about asking God for help in your times of need. It is also about thanking and praising God for all His faithfulness and for everything He has done for us. Prayer is about thanksgiving. Prayer is not only about having faith, but being faith. Prayer is a time where you can lay out all your burdens and worries to God, and to know that He will aid you in times of need. When you pray, you are communicating with God, and just like how you communicate with any of your friends, not only do we talk to God, we must also remember to listen to Him, to listen to what He wants to tell us, and to obey what He has to say. Prayer is a two-way relationship. God doesn’t seek for flowery or lyrical language when you pray, and neither does He fancy a superficial prayer. All He wants, and all He desires of is a prayer from the heart. A prayer from a humble heart, whose only heart’s desire is to give Him thanks, and to lift up the burdens of his/her heart up to God. And that’s all God’s seeking.
